PROMISES THE SECURITY, TRANQUILITY, AND PROSPERITY OF THE CHURCH

“The LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness
like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein,
thanksgiving, and the voice of melody” (Isaiah 51:3).

“Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a
tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither
shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad
rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
For
the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us” (Isaiah
33:20-22).

“Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew
16:18).

“In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear:

and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by
me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
No weapon that is formed
against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt
condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the
LORD” (Isaiah 54:14, 15, 17).

“Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye
that mourn for her: that ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may
milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will
extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck,
ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees” (Isaiah 66:10-12).

“In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely” (Jeremiah 33:16).

“In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine.
I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every
moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day” (Isaiah 27:2, 3).

“And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be
given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all
dominions shall serve and obey him” (Daniel 7:27).

“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
When the LORD shall build
up Zion, he shall appear in his glory” (Psalm 102:13, 14, 16).

“And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a
cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a
defence.
And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of
refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain” (Isaiah 4:5, 6).

“Be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and
her people a joy.
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall
be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying” (Isaiah 65:18, 19).
