God is interested in both our physical and spiritual health and therefore calls us to take a day off each week. On that day, Saturday or Saturday, we must rest from our jobs and honor God.
From the very beginning of creation, God gave importance to the Sabbath. Genesis 2: 1-3 says:
So the heavens and the earth and everything in them were created. When the seventh day came, God rested because He had finished the work He had done. God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day he rested from all his great creation.
(Genesis 2: 1-3)
God consecrated the Sabbath, set it apart as a day of rest, not because He needed it, but to show us the importance of keeping it. The day of rest should be used to seek God’s presence and rest. We have the other days of the week to work, but Saturday must be to recharge batteries and seek God’s presence in a special way.
