Who was Elisha

Elisha was a Hebrew prophet who lived in Israel in 850-800 BC. C. he was chosen to succeed the prophet Elijah during the reigns of kings Joram, Jehu, Jehoahaz and Joash.
In Hebrew, his name is Elisa (אֱלִישַׁע), diminutive of Elishúa, which in Spanish means “God is my salvation.” Elisa is considered one of the “Fathers of Carmel”.
His miracles are mentioned in the Bible in the Second Book of Kings.
Elisha, son of Shaphat, was a shepherd who was born and lived in Abel-Meholah.
