Luke 21: 29-33 29
And he told them a parable: Behold the fig tree and all the trees. 30 When they sprout, when you see it, you yourselves know that summer is near 31 So when you see this happening, know that the kingdom of the Lord is near. 32 Truly I say to you that this generation will not pass even when all these things happen. 33 Heaven and creation will pass away, however my promises will not disappear.
REFLECTION:
In the parable of the fig tree, mentioned by the Lord Jesus Christ in connection with the message to his disciples about the signs before the end of Luke 21: 5-36, including his second coming, his main theme is to discern the times and prepare to the coming of the kingdom of Christ in its last manifestation; when he comes down from heaven with power and glory. Luke 21:28 says: “When these things begin to happen, get up and lift up your heads,” because while unbelieving humanity will be tormented by what will happen in heaven and on earth before the coming of Christ, because the children of God tell you to stand up, cheer up and raise your head, there is joy in his people, because the king comes from heaven and it is when Jesus Christ takes the picture of the fig tree, because when the branches begin to sprout,
The popular doctrine right now is that when these shocking things happen in heaven and on earth, the church (body of Christ) will not be on earth because of the rapture or rapture (if I believe it will happen after the great tribulation) . But we do not see Christ teaching other types or classes of Christians who will witness all these things. It is a message for Christians of all ages who await his return from heaven; Christ clearly urges us to ACCELERATE THE TIMES, WATCH (v. 36) and PRAY, because the tribulation and suffering that come before this will cause some to be led to blaspheme God. No one knows for sure when the day of the coming will be (v. 36), but Jesus Christ asks us to discern, understand, discern the times.
I want to make it clear that this reflection is far from creating a discussion of the different perspectives of eschatology between premillennial * and postmillennial **, because what, if it is clear, if you are in one or the other, the Lord Jesus Christ sent? us to DISCERN, OBSERVE AND BAHIA, and we have several appointments that confirm it:
Matthew 24:42 Therefore take care of yourselves, because you do not know the timing of your Lord.
Matthew 26:41 Awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit is really willing, but the flesh is weak.
Mark 13:35 Therefore watch over yourselves, because you do not know when the lord of the house will come; either at dusk, at midnight or in the mane of the rooster or in the morning;
Mark 13:37 And what I say to you, I say to all of you: Watch.
Luke 21:36 Therefore, always be vigilant and pray that you are worthy to escape all that is to come and to stand before the Son of Man. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all.
