PROMISES TO THE WISE

“Whoso findeth me [wisdom] findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD” (Proverbs 8:35).

“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise
counsels: to understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark
sayings” (Proverbs 1:5, 6).

“Good understanding giveth favour” (Proverbs 13:15).

“If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself” (Proverbs 9:12).

“He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth” (Proverbs 10:17).

“Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
Exalt her, and she
shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
She shall give to thine
head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee” (Proverbs 4:6, 8, 9).

“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
For the merchandise
of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
She is more precious
than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Length of days is in
her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her
paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that
retaineth her.
The wise shall inherit glory” (Proverbs 3:13-18, 35).

“The fool shall be servant to the wise of heart” (Proverbs 11:29).

“There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise” (Proverbs 21:20).

“He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good”

Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that

“Wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom

A wise man is strong; yea, a man of

My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which
is sweet to thy taste: so shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then

“He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding” (Daniel 2:21).

“Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them?” (Hosea 14:9).

“They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament.
The wise shall understand” (Daniel
12:3, 10).

“Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the

LORD” (Psalm 107:43).
