The Parable of the Lost Coin

Luke 15: 8-10 15: 8

Or what woman who has ten drachmas, if she loses a drachma, does not light the lamp, and sweeps the house, and searches with management even to find it? 15: 9 And when she finds it, she gathers her friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have solved the coin that I had lost. 15:10 Thus I tell you that there is joy before the angels of the Lord over a sinner who repents.

REFLECTION:

The parable of the lost coin refers to a woman who misplaces a coin she needed, lights a lamp, sweeps the house, and begins diligently searching for it, and when she finds it, she shares happiness with her friends and neighbors. . after finding the coin. There is joy in heaven when a sinner repents with all his heart, because repentance has to do with the depth of the human heart, where before there was spiritual death, now there is life and life comes through Jesus Christ. Because the Son of Man came to seek and save what was lost (Luke 19:10), this happened to Zacchaeus when Jesus came to rest in his home.

God wants to live in your heart, but a proof of true repentance is that everything has been renewed with God and proclaims the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This parable has many similar features to the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15: 1-7.

Good advice: read Luke 15: 1-7
