The parable of the owner of the house

MARK 13: 33-37

33 Look, look and pray; because you don’t know when the moment will come. 34 It is like the man who went far away, left his house and gave authority to his servants and each one for his work and ordered the gatekeeper to guard. 35 Therefore, be attentive, because you do not know when the master of the house will come; either at dusk, at midnight or in the mane of the rooster or in the morning; 36 so that when it comes suddenly, it won’t find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: watch.

REFLECTION:

This parable calls us to be vigilant, vigilant and remain in prayer before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus compares him to the man who needs to go far, but did not leave his home alone and unattended to take care of his goods, he gave each servant a task and the vigilance of the porter, but both the servants and the porter must constantly. look, because he doesn’t know when the owner comes suddenly and finds them asleep. The end of this part is very revealing for all the disciples of Jesus: “Look”, and whenever we look we must not forget the prayer, they go together. The Lord Jesus said to the disciples of Gethsemane: Watch and pray so that you do not enter into temptation; The Spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38), we can be very quick to watch, but if we do not pray we become weak, we need the Holy Spirit of God to remain in Christ, resist the temptations. or tests like that experienced by all Christians.

All the Lord Jesus’ warnings about the signs before the end of time were for the purpose of faithfulness; God wants us to be faithful until death, believing in Christ, but to remain in that thought and decision, we must understand that our life has been bought with the precious blood of the Lamb, that we no longer belong to ourselves, we pass from in the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Christ, our selfish desires become God’s desire, with a sad and humble heart we advance along the narrow path that leads to eternal life.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all.
