The value of attitude in our lives
The value of attitude in our lives. Attitude is very important; our attitudes become the behavior we exhibit. Attitudes, good or bad, begin with thinking. A well-known saying goes: “Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an act, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny “.
Destiny is the result of life; the character is who we are; Habits are unconscious patterns of behavior. In our destiny or the outcome of our life is actually born from our thoughts. This is where the whole process begins. No wonder the Bible teaches us to completely renew our spirit and develop new attitudes and ideals (see Romans 12: 2; Ephesians 4:23). We must be good students of God’s Word and develop new thought patterns that will ultimately change our entire destiny, the outcome of our lives. We can obstruct the Holy Spirit with bad attitudes like bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, meanness, disrespect, revenge, or ingratitude, and the list goes on. The Holy Spirit flows through a godly attitude, not an ungodly one.
Review your attitudes regularly and watch them carefully, as today’s verse suggests. When you need to change the way you think; All you have to do is change your mind.
Satan will always try to fill our minds with wrong thoughts, but we don’t have to accept what he is trying to give us. I wouldn’t take a spoonful of poison just because someone offered it to me, and neither would you. If we are smart enough to reject poison, we must be smart enough not to allow Satan to poison our thoughts, attitudes, and ultimately our destinies.
Prayer:
Lord, draw my attention to my negative attitudes every day, those behaviors that do not glorify You and prevent me from being the person you want me to be. Transform me into your image and your semen every day and give me the wisdom to learn from you in each step of this process. Amen.
