The 12 Tribes of Israel Today: Who Are They?

Almighty God  made many promises to Abraham and his descendants,  yet  several of  his descendants disappeared from  tradition . Where are the 12 communities  of Israel  today ?

When Almighty God called Abraham, He promised him that because of his servitude, his descendants would become a great homeland and that in him all the nations of the world would be blessed (Genesis 12: 1-3). The blessings that the Lord gave Abraham would continue through his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob, also named Israel, whose 12 sons were the progenitors of the 12 tribes of Israel. There was even a spiritual promise, that all the homelands would be blessed through the Messiah Jesus, who was an ancestor of Abraham (Matthew 1: 1-16; Luke 3: 23-34). Many have traced where some of the peoples who came from Abraham went. Who are the 12 tribes of Israel today? Although Holy Scripture does not specifically name the modern tribes that represent all these heads, there is biblical proof, history and archeology that makes it easy for us to truly identify the United States, Britain, and several of the Western European homelands as the homelands where much of Israel’s 12 communities currently reside. Although this historical knowledge is not definitive for eternal salvation, it does help us to notice the prophecy of the end period.

Of the Realms.

After being slaves in Egypt for some time, Almighty God freed Abraham’s descendants and allowed them to lead the ancient nation of Israel. Over time, 10 of the tribes formed the heading kingdom of Israel and two of the tribes formed the southern kingdom of Judah. Because they violated their laws, God Almighty allowed the northern kingdom to be stopped by the Assyrians and later the southern kingdom by the Babylonians. After 70 years, several of Judah’s oppressed returned to Jerusalem and rebuilt the capital. Because of this and his renewed efforts to accommodate the Lord’s Sabbath, his story continued. But the ten northern tribes largely disappeared from tradition. As concluded, references are made to the ten lost tribes of Israel. But meanwhile his nation disappeared,

Israel would be the target among the nations

In fact, God promised that even if He punished the people of ancient Israel for their sins, He would not completely destroy them. Instead, God said that He would preserve them by scattering them among the nations.

Speaking through the prophet Amos, God the Father said: “Behold, the stars of the Eternal Savior are against the kingdom of sin, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth; yet I will not completely destroy Jacob’s edification, says the God of heaven. For behold, I will command and cause the dwelling of Israel to be shaken by all the other nationalities of the world like this, as wheat is sifted in a sieve, and not a grain falls on the ground ”(Amos 9: 8-9) .

God’s faithfulness in blessing the descendants of the ancient Israelites will continue after Christ returns and the Kingdom of God is established here on earth. As Jesus explained to his apostles: “In truth he told you that in the renewal, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel “(Matthew 19:28). Even the New Jerusalem will have 12 gates named after the 12 tribes of Israel (Revelation 21:12).

Josephus, a first century Jewish historian, stated that “all the people of Israel remained in that land [media]; for which there are only two tribes [Judah and Benjamin] in Asia and Europe subject to the Romans, while the ten tribes so far are outside the Euphrates and are a huge multitude that cannot be counted ”(Jewish Antiquities 11.5. 2 , complete works by Flavius Josephus (combined translations of William Whiston, 1867 and Standard Edition, 1960).

The introduction to the Epistle of James says, “To the twelve tribes that are scattered,” confirming that some in the early New Testament church knew that they were part of several of the descendants of the 12 tribes of Israel.

Following the clues

Trace the history of the 12 tribes of Israel after their nation fell to the Assyrians in 721 BC. C. we must recognize their expulsion and identify them with the names that their conquerors gave them. Many websites and many books offer a wealth of information linking the 12 tribes of Israel to Western European countries and the United States today, and it would be impossible to cover all of this material in this article.

When the Assyrians conquered Samaria, the capital of the northern kingdom, they took the Israelites captive “to Assyria and put them in Halah, in Habor, by the river Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes” (2 Kings 17: 6) . Shortly after the Israelites arrived in these countries, researchers say that people are performing in this area known as kimmeries and shooters. The Assyrians also called them mron khumri, ghomri, gimiri (derived from King Omri of Israel), and iskuza (derived from Isaac).

The famous black obelisk in the British Museum includes an engraved image of King Jehu of Israel bowing and paying homage to King Shalmanas of Assyria. The text tells of Jehu, son (actually, a successor) of Omri, who gave the Assyrian king silver, gold, a gold bowl, a gold pot, gold pots, gold buckets, pewter, a staff and a spear. This was the time when Israel praised Assyria as a vassal nation before it rebelled and was destroyed by Assyria.

Historian Tamara Rice writes: “The Scythians did not become a recognizable national entity until the 9th century BC. C. C…. In 700 BC. had settled in southern Russia … And analogous tribes, possibly even related clans, though politically distinct and independent, were also concentrated in Altai [the mountains of southern Russia and Mongolia] … Assyrian documents take place there Meanwhile, King Sargon (722-705 BC), a date closely related to that of the establishment of the first group of marksmen in southern Russia ”(The Scythians, 1961, pp. 19-20, 44).

Boris Piotrovsky in his book From the Lands of the Scythians notes: “Two groups, the Cimmerians and the Scythians, seem to be implicit in the primitive and Assyrian texts, but it is not always clear whether the terms indicate two peoples. Different nomads or simply mounted … From the second half of the 8th century BC. C. refers to Assyrian sources to nomads identified as the Cimmerians; Other Assyrian sources say that these people were present in the land of Mannai and in Cappadocia for a hundred years, and they record their progress in Asia Minor and Egypt.

The Assyrians used the Cimmerians in their army as mercenaries; a legal document from 679 a. It refers to a “commander [Assyrian] of the Cimmerian regiment”; but in other Assyrian documents they are called “the seed of the refugees who know neither the promises of the gods nor the oaths” (1975, p. 15, 18).

Although it is really clear that these people included displaced Israelites, it should be noted that not all of the shooters or Cimmerians were Israelites. “Scythian” does not necessarily refer to a specific ethnic group. But the term includes the Israelites who later moved to northwestern Europe after their collapse as a nation.

Archaeological evidence

In addition to historical evidence, the trenches have shown a connection between these people and those of Norse descent. For many years, scientists believed that the Scythians were Mongols because groups of these nomadic peoples moved east, but the discovery of art and even the frozen corpse of a Scythian warrior indicates otherwise.

In July 2006, in the Altai Mountains of Mongolia, near China and Russia, researchers made a rare discovery. German researchers, who were part of the discovery team, reported that the extremely well-preserved mother of a Scythian warrior was “a 30- to 40-year-old man with blond hair” (Ancient mummy found in Mongolia). Spiegel Online International, August 25, 2006) Blonde hair is, of course, a hallmark of Europeans, not Mongols.

Before the discovery of this mother, art obtained from a large number of Scythian cemeteries had similarly shown that these peoples were related to Europeans and not Mongols. As Scythian chieftains were buried with their wealth, including wives, horses, and art, detailed images of Scythians, their clothing, and weapons have been discovered. These findings describe her men with long curls, facial hair, and Caucasian features.

In summary, biblical, historical, and archaeological evidence suggests that the descendants of the so-called ten lost tribes of ancient Israel moved to northwestern Europe. It is more common for many people from these nations to also settle in the United States. For the reasons mentioned above, we believe that the people who settled in Europe and the United States are largely descendants of the twelve tribes of Israel today.
