The lamp under a bushel

MATTHEW 5: 14-16

5:14 You are the light of the world; a city set on a hill is not hidden. 5:15 You don’t light a lamp, you even put it in a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the building. 5:16 Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify the Almighty who is in heaven.

REFLECTION:

In Jesus’ words in the Sermon on the Mount in verse 14 of the guidance text, he says that “You are the light of the world,” and no one who lights a candle places it under a bush (box) for a certain amount. of grain, practically unused) but in a candlestick to give light to those at home. Jesus used this comparison to say that every person who truly receives the light of Christ becomes a child of light (because once you were dark, but now you are light in the Lord; walk like a child towards the light – Ephesians 5: 8 ) Therefore, every good work done by his disciples should always honor and praise the name of the Lord, and not the one who does the good work. Because of that objectivity, Ephesians 2:10 says: “Because we are his execution, generated in Jesus the Lord for good works,

Don’t forget the text:

Romans 1:17 “For in the gospel the righteousness of God is manifested by faith and by faith, as it is written: But the just shall live by faith.”

Ephesians 2: 8-9 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and not for yourselves: it is the gift of God; not by works, so that no one can boast ”.
