46 “Why do they call me ‘Lord, God’ and do not do what I tell them to do? 47 I will say who comes to me and hears my voices and puts them into practice: 48 It is like who, when building a dwelling, dug deep and lay the foundations on rock. In the event of a flood, if the river hits the dwelling with energy, it will not be able to shake it because it is consolidated on the rock. 49 But whoever hears my words and does not follow them is like one who builds his house on the ground and does not lay a foundation. REFLECTION:
The parable was given by Jesus in the last part of the Sermon on the Mount, because he wanted his words not to go a deaf ear, but to cause a real transformation in each of his listeners, therefore it means living for our Lord Jesus Christ in obedience , as the apostle Peter said in the first sermon after the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:36 “All the people of Israel know well that this Jesus, whom you crucified, has made the Lord and the Christ.”
We live in a culture where everyone wants to be free, everyone expresses their vision of good and evil, but God has given us his holy word through the lips of our beloved Christ, to know what is good and what is beautiful in front of the USA. of the only true God, that is why it is not enough to listen to the word, but also to put it into practice. Jesus illustrates it in this parable about a man who wants to build a house but the foundation is laid on a solid rock, because when the storm or a flood comes, it cannot come down and he who builds it on the ground and does not lay the foundation, the flood or storm will come and destroy it. In Matthew 7: 24-27, the same parable says that the wise man is based on the rock that is our Lord Jesus Christ, and the fool is the one who builds it on the sand, the one who listens to the teachings of the world. to try to find the rest of your soul.
We must reflect and be convinced by the Holy Spirit to live the rest of our earthly life and proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of God with joy and confess before men that Jesus Christ is Lord, if you deny it, he will deny you (Matthew 10:32 -33), but remember that it is not to come to church and listen to the sermon or feel happy for a while, and then live the Christian life as we want, the words of Jesus are life, because he is the way, the truth and the life.
