Impious

With a varied glossary, in both Jewish and Greek, Holy Scripture describes a spiritual disposition that is rebellious to godliness: to the contempt of the Lord and his righteousness adds a touch of opposition and boastfulness. Paul announces the coming of the “ruthless man” par excellence, who in the end times “will rise above everything and present himself as God” (2 Thes 2, 3s.8); He adds that “the mystery of wickedness is already at work” in the world (2: 7). In fact, it has been in operation since the beginning of history, ever since * Adam despised God’s command (Gn 3,5,22).

Unholy is a concept that comes from a Latin word that is used to refer to those who do not have the holiness of piety or commitment to Jehovah …… For theology, evil consists in the denial of God as an almighty creature.

What is being ungodly?
The specification of impious goes beyond its etymological explanation. It is considered profane who does not have the virtue of piety, but its meaning is much broader, since it refers to a hostile attitude towards what piety represents.

Who is the wicked and the sinner?
Therefore, it is impious who does not have religious faith, is an atheist and does not respect sacred things and places. (…) He is also the cruel man, who does not feel pity or respect for beings worthy of veneration such as his parents, for example. The most eloquent act of the wicked is the denial of God.
